In memory of
When posting this image on Flickr and Facebook I titled it slightly different. Death. I realize now that the title was bold. Too bold.
The below image shows the tail of a male Bohemian Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus). This exotic, amazing, photogenic, looking bird was unlucky as he flew against the window of my newly build house. Instant death. So unfortunate. I felt guilt and still do a bit, though I suppose there is little to nothing I could have done to prevent this. This bird was however still so beautiful that I decided to make a few images of that iconic tail, with the yellow tip. Decided to use a fairly long exposure to create more of an abstract effect and not to make it too obvious that this is the tail... of a dead bird. There is a bit of motion in this image. Some may find that controversial, some may say its meant to be.
This is the end, beautiful friend This is the end, my only friend, the end ... I'll never look into your eyes, again
